This was awesome to see. GREAT job! I still think it's too much for me to take on as I'd want it to be PERFECT and would be afraid to mess it up. Any idea what kind of company I would look up to give me a bid on this type of work and what can I expect to pay? (ball park)Thanks.

How many bricks did it take to build this?

A: If you count there is about 170 bricks but to be safe and take into account broken bricks I would get 200 bricks

Hi,

What is the dimensions of the black mail box you used, its looks fairly wide
And how deep did you dig the hole, I assuming you made some sort of footer before placing the concrete blocks in.
Great job! And thanks for all the pics, looking forward to doing something very similar.

Brian

A : The dimensions are : 10.5" W x 9" H x 19" D. The hole I dug was 40 " deep. How deep you have to go depends on the frost line from where you live. I also used regular mortar bricks to bring it up to level. See picture.

Nice pictures. I am not crazy about the arch on the top but it looks great and definitely adds to your home's curb appeal.

How did you resolve the flag raising issue on the mailbox. It looks as if the flag is recessed into the hole with no way of raising it. I couldn't really tell from your pic's. By the way, you did a great job on this and it looks very professional.

A : Thanks. The "flag" was purchased separate, but it does not raise, it just comes out straight.

Great looking but I have one question. How did you support the round tera cotta tubes when the center of the structure looks hollow?

A: Use heavier cement when doing that part, if you need, use some small rocks on the sides to keep it in place.
